The new series of US postage due stamps, first introduced in 1894, continued in use through the early part of the 20th Century.  After 1985, the use of adhesive stamps for the collection of postage due was discontinued.

These  US postage due stamps were printed by the
Bureau of Engraving and Printing on unwatermarked or watermarked paper, and they exist in varying perforation gaugesThe designs of these stamps, as shown above, are identical, except for the central denomination numerals and names. 

These US postage due stamps are the contemporary companions of the 2nd and 3rd Bureau Issues of definitive postage stamps.

The ten new, major type US postage due stamps shown above were issued between 1930 and 1956.  The designs of these US postage due stamps are identical, except for the denomination numerals and names. 

Some of these stamps exist in both "wet" and "dry" printings.  They are worth about the same.

The seventeen new US postage due stamps shown above were issued between 1959 and 1985.  These stamps are all perforated 11 x 10 1/2.

The designs of these stamps are identical, except for the denomination numerals which were added by rubber plates, in an operation similar to precanceling. 

Some of the later printings of the 1959 issues exist with "dull gum", instead of "shiny gum".  The "dull gum" stamps are worth about 10% more.
