New Ceres-type definitive Portugal stamps appeared in 1926. These new Ceres stamps were printed in London, by the lithographic process, and they were more attractive looking than the previous issues.
The twenty-fourCeres-type definitive Portugal stamps shown above were issued on December 2, 1926. They are all lithographed and perforated 13 1/2 x 14.
The common design features the likeness of the Ancient Roman goddess Ceres,holding a sickle, a symbolic representation of the grain harvest. These re-designed Ceres-type definitive Portugal stamps do not have the imprint below the design.

The eighteenCeres-type definitive Portugal stamps of 1912-1920 shown above were issued during 1930 and 1931. They are all typographed and perforated 12 x 11 1/2.
These stamps were printed from new plates, produced from the original dies. The paper is whiter than that used for the earlier Ceres-type stamps, and the gum is white.
